HISTORY

After over 85 years of research and innovation, we have developed the perfect sleep innovations to create the ultimate in relaxation, along with exceptional sleep health.

1920 – 1940

The year 1929 marked the birth of Dunlopillo. :

The first Dunlopillo latex foam was invented by scientists for use in manufacturing seat cushions for various types of vehicles. Following these initial successes, a major breakthrough came with the creation of a new type of latex mattress that did not require flipping or turning.

1950 – 1970

The Era of Fame :

1950: Dunlopillo latex was selected for use in the seats of Mr. Donald Campbell, the world water speed record holder with Bluebird, as well as for the UK Parliament.

1954: Its superior qualities were scientifically validated by Professor Theo Lammers from the University of Göttingen Medical Institute, who found that latex foam has exceptional resistance to dust mites and bacteria. This established latex foam as a highly hygienic material for mattress production compared to other materials. *Published in Deutsche Medizinische Wochenschrift, 1954.

1987

Cleanliness and Better Health :

The Shirley Institute in Manchester confirmed that Dunlopillo’s Talalay latex, blended with synthetic latex in the UK, is twice as effective at eliminating bacteria and dust mites on mattresses compared to traditional spring mattresses.

2010

The Discovery of Dunlopillo Talasilver – 100% Bacteria Elimination :

We pioneered the use of Silver Nano technology in latex, called Dunlopillo Talasilver. This advanced technology offers exceptional anti-allergy protection, enhanced comfort, inhibits bacterial growth, and effectively retains coolness.
